Nuvo AI now benchmarks, negotiates, and audits freight rates across every load

How Nuvo AI helps shippers control freight spend with live market intelligence, AI-led carrier negotiation, routing guide enforcement, and automated invoice audit.

We’re expanding how Nuvo AI manages freight spend across the full shipment lifecycle.

Nuvo AI already runs pricing, sourcing, execution, visibility, and audit on a single operating layer inside NuvoOS. Now, we’re making the cost-control loop more explicit: every load can be benchmarked against live market behavior, sourced across contracted and in-network carriers, negotiated within service and compliance constraints, and audited after delivery.

The result is a freight execution system that does more than move shipments. It continuously learns from them.

Across customers using Nuvo AI in production, we’re seeing 8% greater purchasing power versus live market rates and 7–25% freight cost reduction in year one across comparable accounts. Nuvo AI is already running across thousands of loads per month, with customers able to start with as few as 10 live truckload shipments.

What’s new

Nuvo AI now gives shippers a more connected way to manage freight cost across five parts of the load lifecycle:

Capability What Nuvo AI does
Live rate benchmarking Compares each load against market behavior and recent lane history.
Carrier bid generation Reaches contracted, in-network, and open-market carriers depending on coverage needs.
AI-led negotiation Negotiates against a live max buy while respecting service and compliance rules.
Routing guide enforcement Prioritizes contracted carriers when performance and pricing remain competitive.
Invoice audit Matches invoices against rate confirmations and reviews accessorials after delivery.

This is built on the same NuvoOS foundation introduced with Nuvo AI: a single freight execution layer that combines pricing, sourcing, execution, visibility, and audit through specialized AI agents.

Why this matters

Most freight teams do not lose control of spend because they lack data. They lose control because the data is fragmented.

A typical shipper may use one system for shipment records, another for rate intelligence, another for routing guides, another for carrier procurement, another for freight audit, and another for reporting. That creates multiple databases, multiple handoffs, and multiple versions of the truth.

Nuvo AI takes a different approach. Every load runs through one shipment record and one data layer. The same system that prices the load can also source the carrier, enforce routing guide logic, validate compliance, execute the shipment, and audit the invoice.

That shared context is what makes the system useful. The pricing agent does not operate separately from the sourcing agent. The negotiation agent does not operate separately from compliance. The audit agent does not work weeks later in a disconnected workflow. Each agent contributes to the same cost-control loop.

How the system works

1. Benchmark the load

When a shipment enters NuvoOS, Nuvo AI evaluates the lane against live market behavior, recent shipment history, and customer-specific context.

This gives the system a target range before a carrier is selected. Instead of relying only on static rates or quarterly benchmark data, Nuvo AI can compare the shipment against what is happening now.

2. Check the routing guide

Nuvo AI evaluates whether a contracted carrier should receive the load first.

If the carrier is priced competitively and performing well, the system can prioritize the contracted option. If the contracted option is no longer aligned with market pricing, service expectations, or availability, Nuvo AI can expand the search.

This helps reduce routing guide leakage without forcing teams into rigid rules that ignore real-time market conditions.

3. Source capacity

When additional coverage is needed, Nuvo AI can reach in-network vetted carriers or move to the open market.

The Quote Agent can contact carriers from Nuvocargo’s 300K+ carrier network, collect bids, and benchmark every rate against real-time market behavior.

This gives shippers more competitive tension on every load while keeping carrier selection aligned with service, compliance, and execution requirements.

4. Negotiate within constraints

Nuvo AI does not simply choose the lowest number.

The Negotiation Agent works toward a defined objective: cover the load at the best available cost while meeting service and compliance requirements. That means rate, carrier reliability, compliance status, lane history, and operational constraints all matter.

In one recent shipment, Nuvo AI booked a load for $1,150 against a $1,270 market average, contacted 32 carriers, received 15 bids, and reduced cost by 7% through AI-led negotiation.

5. Audit the invoice

After delivery, the Audit Agent reviews the invoice against the rate confirmation and checks rates, accessorials, and line items before costs are approved.

This closes the loop. The system does not stop at booking the load. It verifies whether the final cost matches the expected cost and feeds that data back into future pricing, sourcing, and routing decisions.

What customers can measure

Nuvo AI surfaces freight cost performance in the Control Tower, giving operators, logistics leaders, and finance teams a shared view of what is happening across the network.

Teams can monitor:

  • Live freight spend: Month-to-date spend versus budget by lane, mode, and carrier.
  • Market positioning: How each lane compares against live market benchmarks.
  • Routing guide compliance: Which loads moved on contract versus spot, and where leakage is happening.
  • Carrier performance: Which carriers are accepting, delivering on time, and invoicing correctly.
  • Savings tracking: Savings from pricing, routing guide enforcement, sourcing, negotiation, and audit.

This turns freight spend management from a backward-looking reporting exercise into a live operating system.

Designed for compounding improvement

The most important part of this update is not any single agent. It is the feedback loop between them.

Every shipment creates data that the next shipment can use:

  • Carrier bids improve future pricing context.
  • Award decisions improve routing guide logic.
  • Service performance improves carrier selection.
  • Invoice discrepancies improve audit detection.
  • Lane history improves future negotiation targets.

That is the core technical difference between an AI-native freight execution system and a stack of point solutions. Nuvo AI is not just automating tasks around the load. It is using every load to improve the system that handles the next one.

Availability

Nuvo AI is available today for shippers moving North American freight.
